This explains what we collect when you visit heavybutprecious.com or place an order, and what we do with it. We are Heavy, But Precious™ LLC, and we’re responsible for the information described here.
What we collect
When you place an order:
- Name, email address, shipping address, billing address
- Phone number, if you provide one
- Order contents and history
Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and never touches our servers. We only receive confirmation of payment and the last four digits.
When you contact us: whatever you include in your message.
Automatically: basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, via cookies and standard web logs.
Why we collect it
- To process, pack, and ship your order
- To email you order confirmations and tracking
- To answer your questions
- To handle returns and refunds
- To keep records required for tax and accounting
- To detect and prevent fraud
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with anyone except the companies listed below who help us run the store.
Who we share it with
- Stripe — payment processing
- USPS — delivery (name and address only)
- Our website host and WordPress/WooCommerce — to operate the store
- Law enforcement or regulators — only if legally required
Cookies
Our store uses cookies to remember what’s in your cart and keep you logged in if you create an account. Without them, the cart can’t work.
You can block cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the store may stop functioning.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for 7 years to satisfy tax and accounting requirements. Contact form messages are kept until they’re no longer needed.
Your choices
You may ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your information, where we’re not legally required to keep it
- Stop sending you marketing email
Email info@heavybutprecious.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Order and shipping confirmations aren’t marketing and will still be sent.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS encryption across the site and rely on Stripe’s PCI-compliant systems for payment. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always posted on this page.
